The Beidou Satellite Navigation System is a satellite navigation system independently built and operated by China, providing high-precision positioning and navigation services for global users. The Beidou positioning satellite can provide high-precision positioning, navigation, and timing services, and is widely used in many fields such as transportation, surveying, and rescue. The Beidou positioning satellite achieves global coverage, precise positioning and navigation, and assists in intelligent travel, agricultural production, and disaster relief work.
When designing the Beidou positioning satellite, China fully considered the communication capability of the satellite, combined the communication capability and positioning capability, and designed the ability to send and receive short messages in both directions. That means we can use the Beidou satellite to send and receive short messages.
At present, the short messages of the third generation of Beidou are classified in detail according to the level of Beidou cards. Different levels have different byte capabilities. At present, the byte transmission capability of Beidou III is divided into 5 levels.
Level 1 49 Chinese characters (98 bytes)
Level 2 131 Chinese characters (262 bytes)
Level 3 277 Chinese characters (554 bytes)
Level 4 569 Chinese characters (1138 bytes)
Level 5 1000 Chinese characters (2000 bytes)
Global short message of 80 bytes
The application of Beidou short message and Beidou positioning are completely different. Beidou positioning only requires the integration of a positioning chip into your device, and you can use the positioning capability of Beidou satellites for free, which is consistent with GPS.
1. Emergency communication: Traditional communication methods may become ineffective in natural disasters, accidents, or other emergency situations. Beidou short message can be used as an emergency communication method to ensure timely transmission of information. For example, rescue teams can report their location and needs through Beidou short messages, and the command center can keep track of the rescue situation in real time.
2. Ocean fishing and shipping: During ocean operations, communication between ships and shore may be limited by distance and signal coverage. Beidou short messages can help ships maintain contact with shore, report location information, weather conditions, and fishing conditions, and improve the safety and efficiency of offshore operations.
3. Wilderness exploration and scientific research: In remote areas or wilderness exploration activities, communication network coverage is insufficient. Exploration team members and scientific researchers can send location information and important data through Beidou short messages to ensure activity safety.
4. Military applications: Beidou short messages have important application value in the military field, which can be used for troop scheduling, battlefield command, communication between combat units, etc., ensuring the reliability and security of information transmission.
5. Internet of Things (IoT): Beidou short messages can be used for remote monitoring and data transmission of IoT devices, such as drone monitoring, remote sensor data collection, etc., supporting the communication needs of IoT devices in areas without network coverage.
Due to the relatively independent nature of the Beidou short message system, in many fusion projects where we need to send and receive Beidou short messages through fusion communication and scheduling command systems, a Beidou short message gateway is required. Through Beidou short message hardware equipment, a complete SDK development package is encapsulated, and other systems only need to integrate the SDK to enable the application capabilities of Beidou short messages.
